Veteran Employment Support Association (VESA)

Built around partnerships with local businesses in the High Country, VESA is geared toward internships with veterans. This program allows local businesses to offer hands-on skills, peer support, and be a key component in the reintegration of veterans into civilian life. Veterans will be screened and selected prior to their internship, they’ll have a one to two-month stint with a business of their interest. Weekly evaluations and follow ups from OVAAT and the partnering businesses will take place as well as a survey from the veteran once completing the internship. Hit Reset

Hit Reset is an outdoor program, in an off the grid style format that is geared toward giving active duty soldiers and veterans an opportunity to discover their inner being through a holistic approach to living. Through this program they will have the opportunity to try horseback riding or go hiking in the beautiful High Country of North Carolina. You will also be put on some of the most beautiful backcountry waters for kayaking…no cars, no houses, no cell service, just you and your group! There will be mindful meditation, yoga, and creative writing that takes place as well. All activities, physical and mental will be led by our peer support leaders. While attending this program, each group will be given a service project to take on as part of the paying it forward that will take place. If you are interested in this program, please reach out.
